Bret Amundson was hired in sales and marketing for the Minnesota Sporting Journal Magazine in 2012. Soon, he took it over from Matt Soberg as he transitioned to the Ruffed Grouse Society Magazine. He started the Minnesota Sporting Journal Radio Network, growing it to 14 stations. He published the magazine for 3 years before making the move to Northland Outdoors. The radio show transitioned over and grew to 24 stations and the magazine was retired.
